Job Responsibilities

Role Purpose


To plan the overall activities of Finishing (Consumer / Industrial) and execute them.  To achieve the required volume as planned by Logistics Panoli in Kite flying articles, Industrial & Consumer articles (Industrial Tubes, Heavy Cops, Vicone, Cone winding, LAFW) , as per the service norms, with acceptable Quality & Cost. To manage by proper utilisation of the available resources (Men & Machinery), associated processes effectively and give essential training of all personnel involved.


Principal Accountabilities & Key Activities


Manage & Control agreed service level of Finishing department.

  • Manage the day-to-day technical aspects of the Finishing operations; providing expertise, encouragement and ensuring teamwork, aligning work processes in order to achieve high performance standards, meet established targets, objectives and employee engagement in a motivated work environment.
  • Act as a role model for the role out and implementation of the Coats goals and principles ensuring that the wider team understand and can translate the key messages into actions. 

 

Control financial performance of Finishing Department

  • ·       Manage continuous improvement initiatives cross functionally aimed at maximising the potential for saving cost within the business whilst ensuring that Coats “best practice” is in place

 

Control health and safety related issues comply with Local and global requirements

  • ·       Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, health, quality and environmental management policies, SOPs and controls across the Technical function to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products / services and a responsible environmental attitude

 

Manage and develop Finishing Team:

  • Ensure the effective achievement of functional objectives related to the Technical function, setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal in order to maximize subordinate and Finishing performance
  • Encourage employees in the function to embrace change, understand and follow new processes and procedures put in place, in order to achieve the objectives of the organization
  • Train, coach and mentor subordinates with a view to making recommendations for succession plans at plant level

·       Workout and provide manpower plan for the planned activity

·       Promote and maintain discipline with 6S orderliness.

·       Monitor and control Absenteeism.

·       Review Performance Appraisals 6 months once with all Executives in the department.

·       Motivate the employee for their valuable suggestions towards Quality, Productivity and Safety by involving them in RISE


Education, Qualifications and Experience

Knowledge and Understanding of:

  • Knowledge on Finishing processes like Hank winding, Polishing, PA winding and all type of Final winding like Roto winding, Cone winding & Tube winding and different Packing method.
  • SAP PP Module [Reporting]
  • Different machine types and running conditions
  • Variables that effect and impact IE standards
  • Local legislation for worker routines, incentive pay, work loading
  • Understanding of finishing incentive schemes
  • Knowledge of Coats operational and quality SOP
  • Understanding of 5S and Lean manufacturing concepts
  • Knowledge of local labour law
  • Aptitude for making continual improvements.


Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience which include time and motion study
  • Larger team management experience
  • Experience conducting risk assessment and JSA beneficial
  • Experience in value stream mapping advantageous
  • Ability to demonstrate the results
  • Multi skilling within a large operation
