Test Engineer

Job summary

A new job opportunity for expats in South East Asia has just arisen in a global consumer electronics manufacturer based around Ho Chi Minh city.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage a testing team
• Coordinate with R&D department to handle testing and design issue of product.
• Take corrective action in case of any design failure.
• Gather FA report for giving feedback to suppliers and R&D for appropriate actions.
• In charge of all product testing activities
• Document, track and escalate issues as appropriate, using quality tools or similar techniques.
• Provide engineering support for all activities in testing products in factory.
• Participate in troubleshooting and trial run of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution.
• Contribute to all production process and methods in terms of testing functions.
• Testing equipment, tools, fixture maintenance plan
• Train and develop technicians and troubleshooters
• Manage and ensure debug WIP are kept to minimum, and track aging time of debug WIP.
• Develop customized standalone test stations on ad hoc basis.
• Work with test equipment suppliers on proper maintenance and upgrade of software/firmware. 
• Identify latest technology and technique on power supply testing method.
• Review and analysis quarterly ATE test data CPK to ensure any shift or drift in parameter trend is understood and correction action taken.

Experience requirements

• This role is open for expats in South East Asia
• More than 5 years of experience in testing or development roles in electronics manufacturing
• English fluency
• Experience in PCBA troubleshooting & measuring.
• Experience in design and implementation of automated test systems, tool/jig for supporting test.
• Experience in creating tests for many different types of electronic and electro-mechanical devices.
• Experience in working as Test Engineer: Program or fixture setup, modify or improve test program, make failure analysis (FA) report.
• Experience in maintaining test equipment or fixture.
• Knowledge of programming language and labview.

Education requirements

• University degree or higher in a relevant engineering or science based discipline.
