Sourcing Manager

Job summary

Our client, an international retailer, is looking for a Sourcing Manager to join their company and to continue developing this high performing team.

Job Responsibilities

• Be responsible for sourcing suppliers, conducting supplier assessment, cost management, quality and manufacturing control, supplier benchmarking, as well as supply base improvement.
• Research and identify additional potential suppliers using various methods (e.g. trade shows supplier conferences, etc.)
• Collaborates with product development merchants, cross functional teams, and suppliers throughout the product development process
• Actively communicates and provides input on sourcing strategies
• Drive the execution of business plans and projects in multiple categories
• Ensure timely execution of major milestones for each project
• Cultivate partnership with suppliers and accountable
• Manage speed to the market with our supplier partners and cross functional teams.

Experience requirements

• Have 10+ years experience in Global Sourcing with a proven record of driving change with significant results
• Strong leadership skill: at least 5 latest years at Managerial level.
• Good negotiation skills and strong interpersonal and communication skills with professional spirit
• Strong problem solving and excellent organizational and project management skills, able to work well in cross-functional teams
• High level of flexibility and ability to navigate across different type of cultures, products and factories background.
• Analytical skills with an emphasis on product cost and manufacturing capacity and planning
• Project management
• Process management including variance identification and process improvement
• Communication skills – both orally (in English and local language), written, and presentations
• Experience working in China and/or speaking Chinese will be a strong advantage.

Education requirements

• Bachelor degree/MBA desirable, Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or Manufacturing background.
