Job summary
Our client, a casual footwear brand, is looking for Assistant Product Design Manager to focus on offering new design, managing product development, product technical aspects, technical outsoles and molds / sourcing new factories/ materials.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for all Footwear Product Development, correct sample execution and interpretation. Working closely with factories and suppliers to ensure beautiful samples are developed that can be presented to the buying team
- Management of Development sample critical path, working to key deadlines, ensuring samples are presented at the right time
- Create and execute departmental strategies with our suppliers, driving company sales and increasing company profit.
- Maintain market awareness and stay updated with footwear trends, catwalk shows, suppliers ranges and collections
- Work in collaboration with Buying, Sales and Design teams to understand the needs of customer and Range requirements. Use this information to deliver best products and ensure they are fit for purpose and cost parameters are achieved
- Source and negotiate with potential vendors / suppliers for best price, sample development, product offer and service.
- Interact and work closely with Merchandising and Technical team to ensure the product offer by providing excellent service and quality on sourcing, sampling, costing and quality
Experience requirements
- 8+ years experience in footwear development.
- Strong in communication skill and be confident with a design eye.
- Strong design or development background in footwear for UK/EU market.
- Good fashion sense and product knowledge of footwear sourcing, product development with good vendors network.
- Ability to demonstrate proactive sales driven approach with high initiative, energy and passion
- Strong ability to present with confidence and passion, key footwear trends to Buyers, Designers, Managers, Directors.
- Proficiency in spoken and written in English & Vietnamese is MUST. Mandarin would be an advantage.
