Job summary

Lead the implementation of strategic and tactical People initiatives, aligning global and regional HR strategies with local operations to drive business success.


Reporting Structure:

  • Reports To: Chief People Officer, Southeast Asia
  • Direct Reports: 2-5 (People Operations, Payroll, Administration)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Professional certification is a plus.


Job Responsibilities

General Management:

  • Oversee departmental targets and budgets to ensure efficient resource utilization.
  • Implement management decisions regarding short- and long-term People initiatives in line with business goals.
  • Streamline HR processes for improved operational effectiveness across the employee lifecycle.
  • Proactively assess and address HR needs in alignment with business objectives.
  • Design team structures and frameworks to support strategic business initiatives and optimize workforce efficiency.
  • Drive effective recruitment and manpower planning to meet business demands while controlling costs.
  • Develop and implement talent management strategies for key leadership roles.
  • Facilitate organizational design changes to enhance effectiveness.
  • Lead performance management processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Enhance onboarding and overall employee experience.
  • Establish a talent management framework to attract and retain top performers.
  • Implement competitive compensation strategies to enhance employee engagement and retention.
  • Execute learning and development initiatives to address skills gaps and leadership development.
  • Streamline the delivery of HR services and tools for efficient operations.
  • Generate reports on People metrics to inform business decisions.
  • Champion initiatives aimed at improving employee engagement and performance.
  • Lead change management efforts across the organization.
  • Develop an Employer Brand/Employee Value Proposition to position the company as an employer of choice.
  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives throughout the organization.
  • Revise total rewards and recognition approaches to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Focus on continuous improvement of the local operating model for impactful business outcomes.

Business Metrics:

  • Oversee functional budgets and costs.
  • Contribute to incremental revenue and EBIT growth.
  • Drive cost efficiencies.

Leadership:

Experience requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proven track record in developing and executing People strategies that align with business objectives, yielding measurable outcomes.
  • Experience in managing HR operations in dynamic sectors (experience in FMCG or retail is beneficial).
  • Familiarity with establishing HR frameworks in retail and agency settings.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze data and derive actionable insights.
  • Knowledge of both strategic and operational HR functions.
  • Experience in working with diverse teams across various levels.
  • Capacity to handle sensitive issues with discretion.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders diplomatically.
  • Strong analytical skills with a solid grasp of numerical data.
  • Proficient in productivity software (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.


Education requirements

Experience:

  • At least 6 years in a related role.
  • Minimum of 4 years in a managerial position.
