Job summary

Our Client who is a  global manufacturer of EV charging equipment and supplies is looking for a Head of Manufacturing to join their team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Establish manufacturing strategies and objectives: Develop and implement manufacturing strategies aligned with company goals, ensuring operational excellence, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Production planning and management: Lead the production planning process, ensuring optimal utilization of resources, capacity planning, and production scheduling to meet production targets and customer demand.
  • Process optimization: Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and continuous improvement, driving efficiency gains and quality enhancements across all manufacturing processes.
  • Quality control and assurance: Implement robust quality control measures to ensure the delivery of high-quality electric vehicles that adhere to industry standards and customer specifications.
  • Supply chain management: Collaborate with the supply chain team to optimize material flow, manage suppliers, and ensure on-time delivery of components while maintaining inventory levels.
  • Team leadership and development: Build and lead a highly skilled manufacturing team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Environment, health and safety (EHS): Implement and enforce strict EHS policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and compliance with local regulations.
  • Performance monitoring and reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and track manufacturing performance, providing regular reports and updates to senior management.
  • Budget management: Develop and manage the manufacturing budget, monitoring expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring optimal resource allocation.
  • Stakeholder management: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless coordination and alignment across departments.

Experience requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, including at least 5 years in a leadership role within the automotive industry.
  • Experience in electric vehicle manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • Expertise: In-depth knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes, including assembly, welding, painting, and quality control. Familiarity with EV manufacturing processes and battery technologies is advantageous.
  • Leadership skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire a diverse team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
  • Process improvement: Strong expertise in lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with implementing automation and digital manufacturing solutions is a plus.
  • Strategic thinking: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute manufacturing strategies aligned with business objectives, driving operational efficiency, and cost optimization.
  • Results-oriented: Track record of delivering results and meeting production targets within budget and time constraints.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, open to change and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Fluency in English is required. Should also be able to communicate in Mandarin and Vietnamese. 

Education requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field. A master's degree or MBA is preferred.
