About the Role: We have an exciting and rare opportunity to join one of the most prestigious names in the global legal market, which is actively expanding despite the current industry downturn. This is a fantastic chance for mid-level to senior lawyers (including Partners) with strong experience in the energy (wind, solar, oil & gas) or infrastructure sectors to join a top-tier team.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide Expert Legal Advice: Advise clients on a range of legal matters related to energy and infrastructure projects, including wind, solar, oil & gas, and large-scale infrastructure development.
- Contract Negotiation and Drafting: Lead negotiations and draft complex agreements, including project finance, joint ventures, and construction contracts.
- Regulatory and Compliance: Ensure clients comply with relevant local, national, and international regulations, including environmental laws, permitting, and licensing requirements.
- Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, providing strategic legal guidance and managing client expectations.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Mentor junior lawyers and lead teams on complex transactions and projects.
- Business Development: Contribute to the firm’s growth by identifying new business opportunities, expanding client networks, and supporting the firm’s marketing efforts.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other practice groups, including finance, mergers & acquisitions, and dispute resolution, to deliver comprehensive legal solutions for clients.
- Strategic Input: Provide strategic insights to clients, helping them navigate the complexities of large-scale projects and investment opportunities in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
Experience requirements
What We're Looking For:
- Experience: Solid background in energy or infrastructure projects, either in private practice (top-tier law firm) or on the in-house side with an energy company.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge and experience in the energy and/or infrastructure sectors, with the ability to advise on complex legal matters.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional communication abilities, both written and verbal, to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders.
- Fluency in English: Proficiency in English is essential to work in an international environment.
- Passion for the Sector: A genuine interest and drive for energy and infrastructure projects, coupled with a forward-thinking approach.
Education requirements
Education:
- Qualifications: Law degree from a recognized institution. A post-graduate qualification (e.g., LLM or equivalent) is advantageous.
- Admission: Admission to the bar in a relevant jurisdiction (e.g., Vietnam, UK, US, Australia, or other international markets).
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of legal experience in energy and infrastructure law, with a proven track record in advising on large-scale projects.
