Job Responsibilities
Legal Responsibilities:
- Actively monitor and analyze current and emerging laws and regulations, providing insightful recommendations to ensure the company’s compliance.
- Understand the company’s operations to conduct legal reviews and offer legal advice to support various functions and business initiatives.
- Review and negotiate contracts related to purchases, sales, distribution, and agency agreements.
- Assess marketing programs to identify and mitigate legal and practical risks.
- Regularly evaluate the legal implications and compliance of ongoing programs and new initiatives launched by the company.
- Prepare and review official internal decisions and legal responses issued by the company.
- Manage the company’s various licenses, including their application, renewal, and annual audits.
- Prepare documentation to update internal certificates such as the Investment Registration Certificate, Enterprise Registration Certificate, Certificate of Eligibility for Automobile Production and Assembly, and Certificates of Import and Export.
- Guide dealers on the necessary business licenses for new program launches.
- Provide English-to-Vietnamese translations and vice versa as needed.
- Collaborate with the HR Department to uphold business ethics, manage conflicts of interest, and ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
- Offer legal support for disputes arising from contracts, complaints from customers, dealers, and suppliers, and manage lawsuits and arbitrations, including those related to product liability and labor disputes.
- Stay updated on legal issues and proactively study regulations, making recommendations for improvements.
- Support intellectual property protection, including the renewal and management of agreements and related documents.
- Oversee external legal counsel and resources as necessary.
- Manage all internal administration and reporting procedures as directed by the Head of Department or through ongoing training.
- Assist the Government Affairs team and regional teams in reviewing policies and regulations, and communicate updates to management and functional teams.
- Work directly with government entities during legal audits and support other teams during such audits.
- Maintain strong relationships with central and local authorities relevant to the company’s interests in legal and government affairs.
- Organize meetings with external organizations.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by your direct manager or the Head of Department as needed.
Compliance Responsibilities:
- Adhere to internal policies, the Code of Conduct, and Anti-Bribery procedures established by the company.
- Complete all required compliance training mandated by the Corporate Compliance Office.
- Prepare and conduct legal and compliance training as necessary for the business.
Experience requirements
- At least 7 years of legal experience in an international law firm, a top-tier local law firm, or a legal role in a foreign-invested company.
- Proficient in English (writing, speaking, and listening) and skilled in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong business acumen with a decisive, positive attitude, and a systematic approach to thinking.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Independent thinker with strong risk analysis capabilities when reviewing business transactions.
- High sense of responsibility, self-confidence, and integrity.
- Highly self-motivated with strong communication abilities.
- Adaptable and able to work under pressure, in changing environments, while maintaining high standards and effectively prioritizing tasks to meet tight deadlines.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks in line with business/team needs.
- Experience in managing relationships with government officials.
- Strong understanding of government policies and strategies in the automotive industry.
- Experience in international law firms, international companies, or the automotive sector is a plus.
Education requirements
- Bachelor's Degree, major in Law, master’s degree is a preference
