Job summary

  • Accountable for implementing strategic partnerships and market access strategies with assigned MA authorities or regional/hospital formulary listing committees.
  • Plays a key role in developing, communicating, and executing value strategies that address critical questions and influence key decision-makers.

Job Responsibilities

Regularly visit and engage with assigned MA authorities and customers, including:

  • MOH committees relevant to market access decision-making
  • Pricing and/or reimbursement authorities
  • HTA (Health Technology Assessment) agencies
  • Experts and advisors to MA authorities
  • Public formulary listing agencies (e.g., public health insurance, government-funded health programs, government tenders, public hospital drug formularies)
  • Private formulary listing agencies (e.g., private health plans, private insurance drug formularies, private hospital drug formulary committees)

Develop strategic account plans to build high-quality, sustainable, and mutually beneficial partnerships:

  • Map decision-making processes and criteria, regularly monitor and update
  • Conduct systematic stakeholder mapping to understand both formal and informal decision-making
  • Understand the needs of accounts at both organizational and decision-maker levels
  • Outline short- and long-term access visions, goals, strategies, and tactics
  • Lead execution of strategic partnerships with assigned MA authorities/committees
  • Integrate key risks, opportunities, strategies, and tactics into the country MAP
  • Monitor competitor strategies and prepare appropriate market access responses

Enhance access policies and conditions:

  • Monitor changes in access policies and conditions (e.g., pricing, reimbursement, formulary listings, payer policies, tender specifications)
  • Identify opportunities to shift from price-based to value-based decision-making, leveraging global policy concepts, tools, and international experts to improve or maintain access policies

Obtain, maintain, and optimize formulary listings (with or without tenders):

  • Analyze opportunities and risks across the EPD portfolio
  • Develop strategies for formulary listings or de-listings
  • Define requirements for formulary listing and/or tender dossiers
  • Maximize formulary listing results, measured by the number of products listed in accounts
  • Negotiate with MA authorities and formulary listing agencies

Monitor country pricing policies and manage pricing submissions:

  • Map pricing regulations (e.g., International Reference Pricing, Therapeutic Reference Pricing), understand pricing mechanisms for new and in-market products
  • Develop pricing submission strategies to optimize opportunities and minimize risks
  • Coordinate with global pricing teams to ensure strategy alignment and minimize cross-country impact
  • Ensure quality and timely submission of pricing documents
  • Support country market access head in pricing negotiations

Identify and implement payer value-added programs:

  • Based on strategic account planning, identify payer value-added programs tailored to specific accounts for short- and long-term success of the EPD portfolio (e.g., payer engagement programs, local health economics studies)
  • Design payer engagement programs and materials, incorporating outcome measurements to demonstrate value for payers
  • Develop local health economics studies to demonstrate better value for money or positive budget impact, or to disseminate global studies locally


Experience requirements

  • University degree in Medicine/Pharmacy
  • Over 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including significant experience with Market Access authorities and/or formulary listing committees, preferably with experience in off-patent products
  • Experience working in a multinational company with a matrix organizational structure, with at least three years of experience in an industry or business environment, ideally in the power, energy, or mechanical sectors
  • Ability to translate and integrate Market Access strategies into actionable, value-driven planning activities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build relationships with external stakeholders
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Demonstrates professional behavior with a "can-do" attitude and an open mindset
  • A results-driven, dynamic, innovative, customer-focused individual and a collaborative team player
  • Proficient in English
