O&M Leader (Waste Water)

Job summary

Adecco's client - a leading wastewater treatment company in the world is looking for an O&M Team Leader to join their team in Ho Chi Minh City. This incumbent will manage and oversee the daily operations and maintenance of wastewater treatment facilities. This role requires technical expertise in wastewater processes, strong leadership skills, and the ability to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards.

Job Responsibilities

Operational Management:

• Lead the O&M team to operate and maintain wastewater treatment systems, including pumps, aerators, filters, and other equipment.
• Ensure optimal performance of all processes to meet regulatory and environmental standards.
• Monitor and adjust system parameters to maintain efficiency in treatment processes.
• Maintenance Oversight:
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for all equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers for specialized repairs or upgrades.

Team Leadership:

• Supervise, train, and evaluate O&M staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to safety and operational protocols.
• Conduct regular team meetings to address performance, challenges, and updates.

Compliance and Reporting:

• Ensure compliance with local and national wastewater discharge regulations and standards.
• Maintain accurate logs, operational data, and maintenance records.
• Prepare and submit regular reports on facility performance and compliance status to management and regulatory authorities.
• Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Management:
• Promote and enforce safety protocols to protect team members and the environment.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures.
• Respond to emergencies, such as spills or equipment failures, promptly and effectively.

Process Optimization:

• Identify opportunities to improve treatment efficiency and reduce costs.
• Implement technological or procedural upgrades to enhance performance.
• Collaborate with engineers and environmental specialists for continuous improvement initiatives.

Experience requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in wastewater treatment operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Proficiency in wastewater treatment technologies (e.g., activated sludge, membrane bioreactors).
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of local and international environmental regulations.
• Proficiency in using SCADA systems and operational software.
• Certification in wastewater treatment plant operations.
• Experience with energy-efficient and sustainable wastewater practices.
• Familiarity with ISO 14001 standards.

Education requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
