Job summary

A leading tier 1 real estate brand is seeking an experienced Legal Manager to oversee legal operations throughout the construction and selling stages of residential projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in real estate law, excellent negotiation skills, and effective team management capabilities. This role involves a proactive approach to dispute resolution and a comprehensive understanding of legal compliance within the residential sector.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Legal Oversight:
    • Provide legal guidance on all aspects of residential real estate transactions, including acquisition, development, and disposition of properties.
    • Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to construction, sales, and leasing.
  • Team Management:
    • Lead and mentor a team of 3 legal professionals, ensuring high performance and professional development.
    • Allocate work effectively, providing clear direction and support to team members.
  • Dispute Resolution:
    • Manage and resolve disputes arising during the construction and selling stages, including litigation and alternative dispute resolution processes.
    • Collaborate with external counsel as necessary to represent the company’s interests.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards throughout all legal operations.
    • Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Work closely with various departments, including construction, sales, and finance, to ensure alignment on legal matters.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for legal inquiries from internal stakeholders.
  • Policy Development:
    • Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.
    • Stay updated on legal trends and changes in the real estate sector that may impact the company.


Experience requirements

  • Experience:
    • 6-12 years of experience in real estate law, either in-house or at a law firm, with a focus on residential properties.
    • Proven experience in managing legal operations and a team.
  • Skills:
    • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge:
    • In-depth knowledge of real estate laws and regulations.
    • Familiarity with construction contracts and dispute resolution processes.


Education requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Law
