Job summary

  • Our client is a leading provider of specialty chemical solutions to the oil and gas industry. This role plays a critical part in driving sustainable business growth and strengthening client relationships across Vietnam.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead business development and maintain sustainable growth in refinery process chemicals, specific fuel additives programs, and petrochemical sectors in Vietnam.
  • Engage with internal teams and supervise on-site treatment programs, ensuring alignment with performance KPIs and program objectives.
  • Promote and enforce safe working practices in field operations and laboratory environments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with client technical and operations teams; clarify and address any gaps in program performance or expectations.
  • Guide the local service team and collaborate with technical experts to troubleshoot operational issues and communicate effectively with clients.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities by engaging directly with clients and distributors, aiming to expand market share.
  • Collaborate with clients to assess business needs, present tailored value propositions, and demonstrate the benefits of proposed chemical solutions.
  • Submit regular internal reports, including business updates, strategic reviews, and growth plans.
  • Coordinate chemical deliveries and purchases with logistics and procurement teams, both internally and on the client side.
  • Foster team cohesion among technicians and administrative staff to enhance overall productivity.
  • Participate in tender processes, including proposal development, document submissions, and coordination of requirements.
  • Support new product initiatives through proactive client engagement and identifying industry challenges that align with the company’s offerings.

Key Working Relationships

  • Internal Stakeholders:
    • Sales General Manager: Regularly update on client interactions and program performance. (Daily)
    • Vietnam Service Team / Subordinates: Supervise daily site activities, provide guidance and direction. (Daily)
    • Technical Team: Collaborate on technical practices, monitor treatment effectiveness, and support innovation in solutions. (As Needed)
    • Supply Chain Team: Coordinate stock inventory, plan chemical deliveries, and implement cost-effective logistics. (As Required)
    • Procurement Team: Facilitate purchasing processes and budgetary quotations to support timely project execution. (As Required)
    • Human Resources Manager: Partner on workforce planning, market insights, and employer branding efforts. (As Required)
    • Finance Team: Collaborate on budgeting, forecasting, and sales strategy to maximize profitability. (As Required)
  • External Stakeholders:
    • Customers: Develop and strengthen client relationships, pursue sales opportunities, and provide regular updates on program performance. (Ongoing)

Experience requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, preferably with exposure to refinery and petrochemical operations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing technical service teams and field treatment programs.
  • Proven ability to build customer relationships, deliver business results, and manage cross-functional coordination.
  • Strong leadership, communication, business acumen, and customer service orientation.
  • A self-motivated and creative mindset, with an appetite for continuous learning and growth.

Education requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering is essential.
