Job summary
Our client, an international food manufacturing company, is looking for Assistant Production Manager who will manage Production, Quality, Supply Planning and EHS department in their factory.
Job Responsibilities
a. Production
- Oversees the manufacture of products, ensuring production, performance, and quality standards are consistently met.
- Create and implement best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance
- Reviews production reports to ensure safety, quality, financial, and delivery goals and standards are met.
- Assists line manager with long-range operating goals, expansion efforts, and implementation of new and advanced technology.
- Identifies and shares training opportunities for staff to build and improve skills.
- Organizes departmental management structure and teams for optimal, efficient operations.
- Works with chief financial officer to develop operating budget.
- Delivers progress and production reports to executive team members as requested.
- Supervises equipment purchase, maintenance, and layout.
b. Production planning
- Responsible for overseeing the flow of materials and other resources through an organization
- Work with a variety of stakeholders to determine what products should be produced, how much for inventory.
- Develop a team of Supply planners to accurately forecast and ensure supply planning
- Balance inventory and supply planning while maintaining targeted customer service levels
- Lead special projects related to product launches, line extensions, and various supply chain initiatives
c. Quality Assurance
- Responsible for maintaining the highest quality standards in a production company
- Help develop, protect, and audit all processes that may impact certain qualities
- Analyze data in order to find areas for growth.
- Training, motivating, coaching, and correcting employees to ensure that standards are met.
- Formulate strategies to increase productivity.
- Review processes in order to ensure that they align with current trends.
d. Health safety and environment
- Ensures a healthy and safe working environment, and compliance with federal and state regulations, through collaboration with environmental, health, and safety staff.
- Review environmental strategies that impact on future ways of operating and ensure implementation where possible
- Review the use of technological systems that support a more environmentally friendly approach
- Review opportunities to be as environmentally friendly as possible
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Experience requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in industrial/ manufacturing management is required. Must have the strong experience in food industry.
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and managerial skills.
- Thorough understanding of the policies and practices used in the manufacturing.
- Ability to set long-term goals and communicate them to others.
- Ability to motivate and organize multiple efforts to accomplish goals.
- Willing to work on Saturday
Education requirements
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field required; Masters degree preferred.
