Job summary

  • Our client is a leading global innovation service provider in the specialty chemical and food ingredients industry, operating in more than 63 countries.
    • The Business Manager, Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants & Elastomers will report to Senior Business Manager, Industrial.
    • The role will be based in Vietnam, and travel will be part of the role.

Job Responsibilities

  • Sales Management
    • Manage and develop a portfolio of accounts within the Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants & Elastomers market segment in Vietnam.
    • Strengthen relationships with existing clients while identifying and securing new business opportunities.
    • Collaborate closely with the Senior Business Manager to explore additional market potential and achieve targeted revenue goals.
    • Identify, acquire, and grow new suppliers and product lines to expand the business portfolio.
    • Conduct regular customer visits to maintain and deepen relationships with key stakeholders at all levels.
    • Collect and analyze market and competitive intelligence to inform strategies and optimize business returns.
    • Identify opportunities for new product introductions based on market surveys and trends.
    • Ensure timely payment collection and evaluate credit terms to mitigate financial risks.
    • Support sales forecasting, inventory planning, and purchasing processes to maintain optimal business operations.
    • Promote and support key principal relationships by driving alignment on pricing, regulatory compliance, and product campaigns.
    • Implement and uphold commercial excellence standards across all sales activities.
  • Business Development
    • Map and prioritize growth opportunities for the Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants & Elastomers market within Vietnam.
    • Develop and implement strategic growth plans and value propositions to expand market presence.
    • Communicate strategic objectives to local teams and oversee execution of action plans to achieve business goals.
    • Foster knowledge-sharing and identify synergies between regional teams to enhance performance.
    • Support business development activities by identifying and capturing new market opportunities.
  • Project Management
    • Translate annual budget targets into actionable local plans and monitor execution progress.
    • Support local teams in managing key projects, resolving issues, and mitigating risks.
    • Coordinate cross-functional collaboration to ensure consistent delivery of project milestones and performance outcomes.
  • Reporting & Market Intelligence
    • Continuously track and analyze performance against set targets, identifying areas for improvement.
    • Provide regular reporting and updates on Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants & Elastomers product and market performance.
    • Gather, structure, and disseminate market intelligence on technical trends, competitors, and customer needs.
    • Map the Total Addressable Market (TAM) for all Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants & Elastomers applications and support country-level market analysis.
  • Corporate Culture
    • Actively promote and embody the company’s values, behaviors, and corporate culture in all professional activities.

Experience requirements

  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience in sales, commercial, or leadership roles within the specialty chemicals industry.
  • Proven track record in selling raw materials for coatings, inks, wood, and industrial applications within the Coating, Adhesive, ink market.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with a hands-on, proactive approach.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and committed to delivering high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a keen sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is essential.

Education requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a closely related technical field.
