Our client, a leading manufacturer in the textile & garment industry is searching for a Financial Controller working in in Binh Duong province.
The role of a Financial Controller is responsible for all general accounting, internal controls, audit coordination, and finance and treasury functions.
Accounting in general:
- Accountant for the general ledger and sub-ledger (AR, AP, fixed assets).
- Oversee daily bookkeeping tasks, such as journal entry approval and transaction evaluation requiring judgment.
- Oversee the monthly close, ensuring that resources are used efficiently and deadlines are met.
- Ensure that all relevant Vietnamese Gaap and tax accounting requirements, as well as site and group accounting policies, are followed.
Internal Controls, Compliance and Audit Coordination:
- Establish a strong internal controls environment to safeguard the company's assets from fraud, error, and neglect, which involves the definition, documentation, testing, and continuous development of critical controls.
- Coordinate the annual audit with external auditors from the planning stage to the signing of the reports, ensuring open communication, prompt responses to inquiries, and adherence to agreed-upon schedules.
- Responsible for tax and customs compliance with the Vietnamese government, including the timely submission of tax declarations (VAT, FCT, PIT, CIT) as necessary.
Finance & Treasury:
- Provide operations teams with detailed reports on sales and margins, raw materials, direct labor, and overhead variances, fostering a culture of transparency, ownership, and continual improvement.
- Identify cost overruns ahead of time and engage with multiple departments on cost-cutting and performance-improvement efforts.
- In collaboration with the Site Head, lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasts, sharing opportunities to increase growth, profitability, and working capital performance.
- Prior to the transformation initiative, lead the ERP update (Microsoft NAV), streamlining and documenting processes.
- Examine and define a standardized costing technique that is consistent with group principles.
- 3-5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in the textile and garment sector, with a strong understanding of production processes and inventory accounting; exposure to large multinationals is a plus.
- Solid technical capabilities in Vietnamese Gaap and taxes; knowledge of IFRS or US Gaap is a plus.
- Advanced Excel abilities are required, and knowledge of at least one ERP is advantageous.
- Written and spoken English fluency.
- Strong leadership with high ethical standards.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels, with the capacity to influence others outside of direct reporting lines.
