Geotechnical Design Engineer

Job summary

Our client, a leading company in Construction Sector, is looking for Geotechnical Design Engineer with strong background in industrial projects.

Job Responsibilities

• Carry out civil and geotechnical engineering designs across various projects.
• Apply a solid understanding of geotechnical principles to evaluate and design suitable foundation systems.
• Prepare earthworks plans including cut and fill designs and related infrastructure layouts using Civil 3D.
• Perform structural analysis and design for both concrete and steel elements, ensuring compliance with engineering standards.
• Conduct calculations manually and with software tools such as D-sheet, D-settlement, D-pile, Excel; programming skills are highly valued.
• Create detailed drawings using Revit, Civil 3D, and AutoCAD; candidates with BIM knowledge are preferred.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team—architects, M&E engineers, and others—to develop coordinated design models and presentations.
• Participate in client and project team meetings, supporting technical documentation and specification development.
• Contribute to project cost planning, including quantity take-offs, tender assessments, and bill of quantities preparation.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders (clients, contractors, authorities) to ensure project alignment.
• Support team leaders and department managers with project tracking, resource coordination, and general team oversight.
• Assist in preparing technical proposals, tender documents, and contracts as part of business development efforts.

Experience requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in civil/geotechnical design—preferably with a background in industrial projects, foundation design, and road engineering (both flexible and rigid pavements).
• Experience working with international engineering firms and familiarity with both local (Vietnamese) and global design standards.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Vietnamese.
• Proficiency in engineering software: D-sheet, D-settlement, D-pile, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Revit—plus coding knowledge is a strong advantage.
• Ability to deliver high-quality work under tight timelines; self-motivated with strong problem-solving and critical thinking capabilities.
• Adaptable, proactive, and eager to learn—with a collaborative mindset and a drive to improve.

Education requirements

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
