Job summary

Our client, a global leading retailer, is seeking GLOBAL SOURCING MANAGER, FURNITURE to monitor the performance of vendors, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements, especially with new vendors as well as implement end-to-end strategies for vendor diversification to deliver sustainable value.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee vendor performance, evaluating their ability to meet quality and delivery standards, particularly with new vendors.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for vendor diversification.
  • Confirm that vendors are fully committed to the plan and can maintain sustainability regarding timelines and costs.
  • Collaborate with factory vendors to assess their capabilities and create plans to meet sourcing objectives.
  • Work closely with global cross-functional product teams to ensure vendors offer the best pricing, quality, delivery, and relationship management that aligns with company goals.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure vendors meet requirements and successfully execute plans with expert data collection. Coordinate projects and recommend vendor solutions based on NPD activities.
  • Manage complex projects, provide updates to leadership independently, and oversee tasks and results.
  • Lead strategic vendor management initiatives, collaborating with on-the-ground labs to identify vendor shortcomings and propose solutions to avoid delays in product timelines.
  • Foster strong relationships with all vendors and external partners.

Experience requirements

  • Over 10 years of experience in global furniture sourcing organization with at least 6 years experience in project management. Plastic experience is a plus.
  • Advanced experience, ideally with regional U.S. or European-based companies.
  • Excellent English & Vietnamese written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels and departments. Chinese is a plus.
  • Demonstrates sound judgment in daily decision-making and works independently
  • Effectively conveys complex information both verbally and in writing, tailoring details to suit the audience
  • Consistently delivers results with minimal supervision
  • Takes on stretch opportunities to learn and contribute to broader team goals
  • Ability to travel frequently.
