Head of Production

Job summary

Adecco's client - a global manufacturer in steel fabrication and industrial solutions is looking for a Head of Production to join the factory to expand its manufacturing operations and optimize its efficiency. This incumbent is responsible for overseeing all manufacturing operations at the Vietnam plant, ensuring quality, efficiency, safety, and on-time delivery of precision spraying systems. As a key member of the site leadership team, this role drives production excellence.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all production activities including assembly, machining, testing, and packaging of spraying systems.
• Develop and execute production plans to meet customer demand, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
• Drive continuous improvement in productivity, cost control, yield, and process reliability using Lean Manufacturing and 5S methodologies.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations and standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
• Coordinate closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Maintenance to ensure smooth end-to-end operations.
• Optimize manpower, material usage, and machine efficiency to meet KPIs and operational targets.
• Implement robust training and development programs for the production team to build skill, engagement, and ownership.
• Prepare and manage production budgets, reporting, and capacity planning.
• Participate in new product industrialization and support technology transfers from HQ or other global sites.
• Foster a culture of accountability, performance, and cross-functional collaboration.

Experience requirements

• 8+ years of manufacturing/production leadership experience in a mechanical, mechatronics, or equipment manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in precision assembly or components, preferably in European or Japanese-invested companies.
• Strong understanding of machining, metal processing, pneumatics, or spraying systems is an advantage.
• Hands-on leadership style with a data-driven and result-oriented mindset.
• Familiar with ERP systems and production planning tools.
• Excellent communication and people management skills.
• Proficient in English and Vietnamese.

Education requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
