Job Responsibilities

The Head of R&D will be responsible for defining and executing the R&D strategy for our tea beverage portfolio. This senior role combines technical expertise with creative innovation and effective team leadership to develop groundbreaking products that resonate with today’s tea enthusiasts. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that new products meet the highest standards of quality, taste, and safety, while staying ahead of market trends.

Strategic Leadership:

• Develop and implement an end-to-end R&D strategy that supports business growth and product innovation.
• Monitor market trends and consumer preferences to guide the development of new tea beverages.

Product Development:

• Oversee the complete product lifecycle—from ideation and formulation through pilot testing and commercialization.
• Lead sensory evaluations and iterative formulation improvements to achieve superior product quality and consistency.

Team Management:

• Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing R&D team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Encourage collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the team and across departments.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Partner with Marketing, Production, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless product launches and operational alignment.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with external partners, ingredient suppliers, and research institutions.

Quality & Compliance:

• Ensure that all product developments adhere to local and international food safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
• Implement robust quality control systems and testing protocols.

Budget & Resource Management:

• Manage the R&D budget effectively, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within cost constraints.
• Optimize resource allocation to maximize innovation and efficiency.

Experience requirements

• At least 8–10 years of experience in beverage R&D, ideally with a focus on tea or related product categories.
• Proven track record in leading product development initiatives from concept to market launch.
• Strong understanding of food safety, quality control, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Familiarity with Vietnam’s tea culture, local ingredients, and consumer trends is highly desirable.
• Experience in managing budgets, vendor relationships, and cross-functional collaboration.

Education requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s/Ph.D. preferred).
