Our Client in Oil & Gas, Energy field is hiring an IT Business Analyst (Corporate App) in Hanoi Office

Job Responsibilities

A Business Analyst (BA) in IT serves as the crucial link between business requirements and IT solutions. This role focuses on optimizing processes, leading IT implementations, and ensuring alignment with industry standards to maximize system efficiency and value.

1. Functional Responsibilities

  • Business & Requirement Analysis
    • Gather, document, and analyze business requirements.
    • Translate business needs into functional and technical specifications.
    • Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvement strategies.
  • IT Solution Development & Implementation
    • Collaborate with IT teams to design, implement, and optimize solutions.
    • Support software development, system upgrades, and integrations.
    • Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT), training sessions, and validate system functionality.
  • Process Optimization & Digital Transformation
    • Analyze existing workflows and propose automation opportunities.
    • Enhance system utilization and drive digital adoption.
    • Support business process reengineering initiatives.
  • Compliance, Risk, & Quality Assurance
    • Ensure IT solutions comply with industry standards and best practices.
    • Identify potential risks in IT projects and recommend mitigation strategies.
    • Maintain documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.

2. Procurement

  • Define and document the Scope of Work (SOW) for IT projects and services.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to determine technical and functional requirements.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals to ensure alignment with business needs.

3. Reporting

  • Prepare reports on project status, costs, and other relevant metrics.

4. Budgeting

  • Assist in IT budgeting by analyzing costs and financial feasibility.

5. Policies & Procedures

  • Contribute to improving IT processes, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure adherence to IT governance frameworks and best practices.

6. Team Development & Capability Building

  • Organize hands-on training sessions for in-scope areas.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to IT staff and business stakeholders.

7. Other Duties

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by managers and senior leadership.


Experience requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business analysis.
  • At least 2 years of experience in IT project management.

Core Competencies

1. Business Analysis Skills

  • Requirement Gathering & Documentation: Elicit, document, and manage business and system requirements.
  • Process Modeling: Utilize BPM, UML, Flowcharts, and Visio to document business workflows.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with users, business leaders, IT teams, and service providers to align expectations.
  • GAP Analysis: Identify gaps between business needs and IT capabilities.
  • Feasibility Analysis: Evaluate the technical feasibility of requirements based on available technologies, tools, and expertise.

2. Technical Expertise

  • Software Development Lifecycle: Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and DevOps methodologies.
  • IT Project Management: Hands-on experience managing IT projects from initiation to completion.
  • Change Management: Strong ability to assess, plan, and implement system/process changes.
  • Enterprise Systems: Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP or other industry-specific solutions).
  • Cloud & IT Infrastructure: Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) and IT architecture concepts.

3. Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills

  • Critical Thinking: Ability to assess complex problems and identify root causes.
  • Data Analysis: Experience using Excel, Power BI, or SQL to extract business insights.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify and mitigate risks in business and IT processes.

4. Communication & Interpersonal Skills

  • Technical & Business Communication: Ability to write clear and concise business requirements and technical documentation.
  • Presentation Skills: Proficiency in using PowerPoint and Visio for reporting and visualization.
  • Negotiation & Conflict Resolution: Ability to balance stakeholder requirements with IT constraints.


Education requirements

  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Major: Computer Science, Information Technology, Information & Telecommunication, Business Administration, Finance, or related fields.
