Legal Team Lead / Legal Manager

Job summary

Our client is a reputable securities company embarking on an exciting expansion journey. They are looking to enhance their legal team and require a talented Legal Manager who will play a crucial role in shaping and leading legal strategies from the ground up.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all legal aspects of the company’s operations and expansion, ensuring compliance with securities laws and regulations.
• Provide expert legal advice on securities transactions, corporate governance, regulatory issues, and business structuring.
• Oversee legal due diligence, including the review of contracts, agreements, and regulatory filings.
• Manage and coordinate with external counsel as required.
• Advise senior management on legal risks and opportunities associated with the company’s growth plans and new initiatives.
• Monitor and interpret changes in securities regulations and advise the company on their potential impact.
• Lead and mentor the legal team as the department grows in size and scope.
• Assist in drafting and reviewing policies and procedures related to compliance and risk management.
• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure that legal considerations are factored into business decisions.

Experience requirements

• 5-10 years of experience in securities law, either from a securities company or a law firm with a strong securities client portfolio.
• In-depth knowledge of securities laws, regulations, and compliance standards.
• Ability to manage multiple complex legal projects simultaneously.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with a passion for taking ownership of large-scale projects.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to advise senior leadership and stakeholders effectively.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.

Education requirements

• Law degree from a recognized university (Juris Doctor or equivalent).
• Additional qualifications or certifications in securities law or related areas would be a plus.
