Job summary
Our client, a global branding and manufacturing company in the food and beverage sector, is looking for Factory Director. This role is based in Binh Duong Province.
Job Responsibilities
The Operations Director is responsible for the operational functions of the plant including quality, scheduling, and costs. This role is responsible for selecting, hiring, training, and assigning supervisory and production personnel. This role works with the Department Managers in overseeing the day-today operation of the plant including scheduling, determining labor requirements, material selection, shipping arrangements, production reporting and coordination and supervision of the plant personnel. This role also provides the solutions and guidance needed in the plant to drive employee safety, food safety, quality, and overall performance throughout.
Main responsibilities:
- Ensure plant safety through compliance of safety standards as issued by company safety committees.
- Achieve compliance for product quality, food safety, and food defense as issued by the QC Department while maintaining overall plant efficiency.
- Manage materials, packaging and raw materials such that all materials are available to meet scheduling requirements on a timely basis by working closely with purchasing and inventory manager.
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to product, process, or the quality system and recommend or provide solutions to correct any deficiencies.
- Control further processing or delivery of nonconforming products until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
- Work closely with Finance to ensure compliance and understanding of profit and loss of plant operation.
- Supplement, track, and be held accountable to all applicable KPIs.
- Partner with QC for compliance of food safety, product quality and regulatory compliance of plant.
- Foster an environment that embraces continuous process improvement of the facility, processes and personnel.
- Strive for a well-trained and motivated staff through excellent leadership and communication skills. Coordinate with Production Managers and Supervisors/Line Leads to ensure employee performance reviews are conducted, reflecting accurate goals and performance.
- Schedule and conduct plant meetings with production and related staff.
- Manage cost and manufacturing components such as package material, raw ingredients, fixed and variable labor, quality, efficiency, reliability, scrap, rework, energy, GMPs, safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance.
- Develop short- and long-term capital investment plans for the facility and be accountable for the planning and execution of all projects.
- As a member of Leadership Management Team, the Operations Director contributes in driving company strategy and culture. − Manage overall IT projects, ERP system, intranet system, etc ….
Experience requirements
- Knowledge of manufacturing systems, including BOMs, routings, capacity, work orders, inventory control, and shop floor control.
- Knowledge of GMPs, PC, HACCP, EMP, OSHA, FDA regulations.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines within specified time constraints.
- Superior problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and process management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirement.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills, attention to detail and thorough desire for continuous improvement.
- Self-starter with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Plant Management experience in food manufacturing (strongly preferred).
Education requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Management, Science degree or other closely related field.
