Product Development Manager

Job summary

Our client is one of global footwear and apparel companies known for its portfolio of premium lifestyle brands.

Job Responsibilities

• Allocate and manage project workloads within the team to ensure alignment with skills and business needs.
• Lead development and commercialization processes, ensuring product functionality, quality, and cost alignment.
• Maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOM) and technical documentation.
• Analyze tech packs and suggest construction/material/costing alternatives.
• Serve as a technical advisor to cross-functional teams on construction, materials, and costing.
• Foster a solution-oriented culture and coach team members for growth and cross-functional performance.
• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to implement best practices and continuous improvement strategies.
• Analyze defective returns to improve product development and material usage.

Experience requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical or product-related field.
• 10+ years in the footwear industry, with a focus on product development, commercialization, or QA.
• 3–5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
• Proven experience managing technical projects, factory partnerships, and global collaboration.
• Strong knowledge of footwear materials, construction, lasts, molds, and product lifecycle.
• Skilled in PLM systems and Microsoft Office.
• Fluent in English (written and verbal); Mandarin is a plus.
