Job summary

Adecco is looking for a skilled QA Inspector / Auditor to join the team of the leading player in online retail. Our client is seeking a committed individual to oversee and ensure top-notch apparel production quality, working closely with the QA and Production team in China during the pre-production and production audit stages.

Job Responsibilities

At PP Stage: China Production Manager to Collaborate w/ QA FM

  • Pre-production process control in effect for criteria-based TSV’s, Key Driver, Big Buys, production in new Vendors/Factories/Regions, new brands, and categories as identified by QA Factory Management, Sourcing & Shanghai Production team during handover meeting.
  • Lead PP meeting on site, ensure the manufacturer understands garment construction, workmanship, fitting, etc., are consistent and according to the approved standard. Document to specify the style based on handover meeting notes and callouts/comments during fit/full-size run approval.
  • Measure PP sample and TOP garment submitted by local manufacturers for conformance to specifications and quality requirements. Understand Apparel PP sample and QA requirements and be able to internally reject any sample that will not meet these requirements. Coordinate communication of PP sample comments and advise the manufacturers the resolution in term of workmanship, construction, measurement, fitting issue at the early stage of bulk production

Production Audit Stage: QA FM Specialist to Provide Guidelines and Manage

  • Ability to propose and work with suppliers to plan and execute joint pre-production meetings, inline checks, or quality improvement programs. Demonstrate results to make a difference and achieve business goals. Evaluate & report on factory on-site capability & quality system. Alert Vendor/Factory and the Production team of any specification discrepancies or garment construction problems.
  • Review the approved PPS on Tech Design approval and standards, spec measurements, and garment balance on our company-required Fit Form.
  • Conduct inspection during the bulk production period as follow-up to the pre-production meeting to ensure garment construction, workmanship, fitting, etc., are consistent and according to the approved standard. Share daily inspection reports with the production team as well as the vendor and factory.
  • Lead weekly production review meetings with the production team responsible for the brand/category to assure production output and production quality consistency with approvals.
  • Understand QA TOP requirements regarding packing methods, packing/weight limits, and regulations, and collaborate with the TOP technician to internally reject any sample that failed to meet these requirements.
  • Elevate any issues in quality/consistency found during on-site visits to the manufacturer's QA management team, vendor's QA, and Shanghai Production team. Provide correction options, estimated impact/reaction in bulk, and the estimated time to correct.
  • Production audits take place at different stages of manufacturing (fabric control, cutting & sewing, finished goods) to ensure that products continue to meet company criteria and that the manufacturing process produces consistent goods.

Experience requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in apparel manufacturing with an in-depth understanding of the field
  • Proven experience in product development, technical design, and manufacturing of apparel products
  • Strong analytical abilities to evaluate and report on factory capabilities and quality systems
  • Excellent communication skills to provide clear guidelines and manage pre-production and quality improvement programs
  • Pattern knowledge, garment construction & manufacturing processes with the ability to understand key QA manufacturing audit elements for each stage of production (including preproduction auditing concepts), machine sewing skill, preferably working experience in garment factory

Education requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Manufacturing or a related field (alternative: 5 years of relevant experience)
  • Preferred Education: Degree in Textile/Fashion Design, or Quality Assurance
