Job summary
Our client, a global sourcing organization, is looking for Sourcing Manager (Individual Contributor) to manage all phases of sourcing process and develop overall supply strategy for the assigned categories.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct research on potential suppliers, manufacturers, promotions, and other industry trends to gather accurate and up-to-date information for purchasing activities.
- Select and maintain relationships with key suppliers, vendors, or subcontractors to ensure the organization receives satisfactory standards for managing supplier performance.
- Identify, research, and assess suppliers who meet the organization's standards for price, quality, timing, and supply reliability.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and progress of strategic business goals.
- Analyze and verify financial, competitive sales, market data, and other relevant information about potential business partners, new markets, products, and services to provide senior management with accurate, timely information for strategic and operational decision-making.
- Support Product Development activities, including product design, patent research, tooling negotiations, etc.
- Negotiate pricing, supplier agreements, terms, volume commitments, and conditions with new suppliers.
- Identify and establish contact with potential new vendors in Asia for both new and existing products.
- Collaborate directly with new vendor suppliers to ensure smooth and accurate onboarding.
- Manage people effectively.
Experience requirements
- 10+ years in Sourcing area with in-depth hands-on experience in strategic sourcing for hardline products (DIY, tools, lighting, plumbing...), particularly for the North American market.
- Strong project management and leadership skills
- Experience in retailer - buying/sourcing/trading offices is must.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English & Vietnamese.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to travel frequently.
- Understand key certification/specifications for N. America (i.e. IAPMO, NSF, UL, etc.)
- Ability to negotiate and sustain networking relationships.
