Supplier Quality Engineer

Job Responsibilities

• Monitor & drive the supplier’s improvement in quality system & process, ensure timely reporting of supplier’s quality capabilities and performance, such as PPM, QN/8D on time response rate, SI acceptance rate, etc.
• Develop supplier improvement plans, including audit, supplier visits, tracking, appraisal & ranking.
• Carry out supplier validation audits, with supplier support and supplier advanced product quality planning (APQP) or other company's approved factory methods
• Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team and Sourcing team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements Support new product launches to ensure that supplier quality meets the required standards
• Perform root cause problem solving with suppliers to obtain corrective & preventive actions, follow up the corrective & preventive actions and other requests from company.
• Lead as a Manufacturing liaison to suppliers to resolve active quality concerns. Follow and track all corrective action requests for the supplier base.
• Assists supplier development of procedures, evaluation of quality systems and recommends changes to process controls.
• Provide information regarding company requirements for suppliers.
• Identify training requirements and sources of training for suppliers.
• Oversee daily controls and Key Process Indictors (KPI) of supplier performance metrics.
• Flexibility to handle multiple priorities to meet schedules.
• Work in a cross-functional environment with Engineering, Plant Quality Assurance, Sourcing and Project Management team, Coordinate with other SQE for multi-vendor project internally.

Experience requirements

• 3 -5 years’ experience in supplier quality management, manufacturing or industrial engineering
• ISO 9000 / TS16949/ISO14001/ISO45001/ASQ auditor certification is preferred
• Preferred experience in Quality Tools and Processes (e.g., APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, SPC, 8D)
• Strong understanding of tooling requirements for die-casting/ stamping…components.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional team and interface with Manufacturing and Engineering.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in English &Vietnamese (verbal and written).
• Able to frequently travel Computer Literate.

Education requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering/Science is required.
