Job summary
Adecco's client is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Swine Nutritionist to develop, implement, and optimize feeding programs that enhance the growth, health, and productivity of our swine herds. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in animal nutrition to formulate diets, evaluate feed ingredients, and collaborate closely with production, veterinary, and research teams to drive efficiency and sustainability in our swine production operations.
Job Responsibilities
Nutritional Program Development & Research:
- Develop comprehensive nutritional programs for all phases of swine growth, incorporating the latest industry standards and farm-specific conditions.
- Participate in swine research projects, determining nutrient requirements to optimize animal health and production performance.
Feeding Strategy & Technical Support:
- Implement targeted feeding strategies designed to maximize both physical growth and financial performance on customer farms.
- Review existing customer formulations, provide tailored recommendations, and address any issues raised.
- Offer ongoing technical support by staying current on emerging nutritional concepts and production standards.
Feed Ingredient Analysis & Diet Formulation:
- Analyze both standard and innovative feed ingredients, setting up accurate diet specifications in formulation programs tailored to diverse customer profiles.
- Create and implement strategic plans to enhance production efficiency through optimized nutrition.
Customer Engagement & Sales Support:
- Deliver informative presentations on product applications to new customers and internal teams, supporting sales efforts with in-depth technical knowledge.
- Translate technical information for colleagues when necessary, ensuring clear communication with non-local experts.
Marketing & Market Intelligence:
- Prepare technical papers, articles, and other marketing communications to keep customers and team members updated on industry news and market trends.
- Gather, analyze, and share market information and scientific reports to continually improve service offerings and product knowledge.
Commercial Trials & Product Development:
- Design and execute statistically sound commercial trials with customers, including protocol development, monitoring, data collection, and outcome analysis.
- Leverage personal expertise and accumulated knowledge to evaluate new product ideas, assess business opportunities, and contribute to the expansion of the product portfolio.
Industry Representation & Safety:
- Represent the organization at technical conferences, exhibitions, and seminars, delivering presentations and providing translation support as required.
- Ensure all business trips and customer site visits are conducted safely and in compliance with established safety protocols.
Experience requirements
Professional Experience:
- 7–8 years of experience working in a feed mill environment or large-scale pig production with hands-on nutrition and formulation responsibilities.
- 3–5 years of experience as a technical consultant or nutritional advisor.
Technical Expertise:
- Solid understanding of farm management and husbandry practices.
- Proficiency in using formulation systems such as Format and/or BestMix.
- Familiarity with Food Safety Management Systems, including ISO 22000:2018 and HACCP.
Core Competencies:
- Ability to balance practical commercial delivery with stringent technical standards to achieve optimal long-term outcomes.
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills, with a proven track record as a role model of high professional standards.
- Excellent relationship-building capabilities and the ability to provide constructive challenges and support to a team.
Education requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Animal Nutrition, Veterinary Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
