Job summary

Adecco's client - A world leading animal feed manufacturer is seeking for talented Vet Lead for their Swine farms across Vietnam.

Job Responsibilities

Veterinary Management:

  • Oversee daily farm operations, ensuring efficient production and high standards of animal welfare.
  • Implement and monitor biosecurity measures to prevent disease outbreaks.
  • Manage feeding schedules, vaccination programs, and health management practices.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international regulations and standards.

Staff Management:

  • Lead, train, and supervise farm staff, promoting a safe and productive work environment.
  • Develop and implement staff schedules and monitor performance.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to enhance staff skills and knowledge.

Production Management:

  • Monitor and analyze production data to improve efficiency and output.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize production and reduce costs.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping of production metrics, health records, and inventory.

Facility Maintenance:

  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of farm buildings, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Ensure the farm facilities are kept clean and well-maintained.

Financial Management:

  • Prepare and manage the farm budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Monitor expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Report financial performance to senior management.

Animal Welfare:

  • Ensure the highest standards of animal welfare and ethical farming practices.

Implement and monitor animal care protocolsVeterinary Management:

  • Oversee the health management of swine across multiple farm locations.
  • Develop and implement disease prevention and control programs.
  • Diagnose and treat diseases, injuries, and other health issues in swine.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international animal health regulations.

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor a team of veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
  • Provide training and development programs to enhance team skills.
  • Coordinate with farm managers to ensure seamless veterinary support.

Health Program Development:

  • Develop and oversee vaccination programs, health monitoring, and biosecurity measures.
  • Implement and monitor health protocols to ensure optimal swine welfare and productivity.
  • Conduct regular health audits and implement corrective actions as needed.

Research and Development:

  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in swine health and veterinary practices.
  • Conduct research and field trials to improve swine health management.
  • Collaborate with research institutions and industry experts to develop innovative health solutions.

Reporting and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of health programs, treatments, and health statuses.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on health metrics and program outcomes.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of veterinary activities and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other departments, including production, nutrition, and farm management.
  • Provide expert advice and support to farm managers and staff.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, suppliers, and industry partners.

Experience requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in swine veterinary practice, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Extensive knowledge of swine health management, disease prevention, and biosecurity measures.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using veterinary software and data analysis tools.
  • Willingness to travel nationwide as required.

Education requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree.
