Job summary

Job Responsibilities

Strategy & Development:

• Develop and implement a competitive costing strategy to drive efficiency in material costing processes, working closely with Development, Commercialization, Material, and Costing teams as well as external Tier 2 suppliers.

General & Task Management:

• Oversee and ensure upper material pricing aligns with brand-specific critical paths and margin targets.
• Collaborate with Design, Development, Commercialization, Material, and Costing teams to optimize material costs while meeting performance expectations.
• Gather market intelligence on raw material pricing and manufacturing costs, conducting in-depth analysis and evaluation of supplier costs.
• Review cost breakdowns from Tier 2 suppliers, negotiate seasonal pricing, and ensure material and Line of Progression (LOP) costs remain competitive.
• Work closely with internal Material and Costing teams to support the company’s margin objectives.
• Establish strong supplier relationships, set performance benchmarks, and identify opportunities for improvement in collaboration with relevant teams.

People Management:

• Lead and mentor the Material Costing team, overseeing various material categories.
• Set and monitor aligned objectives and key results (OKRs) for each brand, ensuring continuous performance assessment and improvement.
• Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with the Costing team.

Experience requirements

• 8+ years of experience in footwear costing and/or manufacturing.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.
• Strong price negotiation and analytical skills.
• Results-driven with the ability to meet deadlines efficiently.
• In-depth knowledge of footwear materials and costing structures.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related systems.
• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
• High level of integrity and professionalism.
