Job Responsibilities
Strategy & Development
- Establish a competitive costing strategy and drive efficient material costing processes in collaboration with Dev-Com, the Material team, Shoes Costing, and external T2 suppliers.
General & Task Management
- Oversee upper material pricing to align with each brand’s critical path and margin goals.
- Engage cross-functional teams—design, development, Dev-Com, material, and Shoes Costing—to optimize material costs while maintaining performance standards.
- Gather and analyze raw material market prices and manufacturing costs from T2 suppliers.
- Review detailed T2 cost analyses, negotiate seasonal pricing for materials and LOP, and ensure final material costs remain competitive.
- Partner with the Material and Shoes Costing teams to support margin targets.
- Build strong supplier relationships, set performance benchmarks, and collaborate with Dev-Com and the Material team on continuous improvements.
People Management
- Lead and coach the Material Costing team by material category.
- Define and align OKRs (Objectives & Key Results) by brand, assessing team performance regularly.
- Foster strong collaboration with the Shoes Costing team.
Essential Job Functions
- Planning (5%) – Implement competitive costing strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance operations.
- Reporting (30%) – Compile and review cost reports to ensure standardization and compliance with policies.
- Analysis & Enhancement Projects (15%) – Drive initiatives to refine product costing and support brand growth.
- Standard Costing & Negotiation (20%) – Provide in-depth costing analysis to support negotiations with factory partners.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration (20%) – Work with Development, Dev-Com, Material, and Production teams to implement cost-saving processes aligned with performance objectives.
- Process Improvement & Innovation (10%) – Support ongoing enhancements through system improvements, cost engineering, and process optimization.
Experience requirements
8+ years of relevant footwear experience in costing and/or manufacturing
Education requirements
University degree or above
