Job Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

The Director of Business Enablement drives the team to fulfill the requests from internal and external business functions, which include, but not limited to

• Bring new data into Datalake using the supported ingestion mechanisms
• Serve data to business via supported consumption framework, 
• Design, build, and operationalize new data solutions to enable new and existing products 

Some of the key responsibilities include:

• Understand the bank’s data platforms (Datalake and Data Warehouse) and their foundation frameworks to architecture level
• Design, build, and run data solutions to meet current business needs
• Incorporates non-functional considerations into the solution
• Ensures cross team integration and proper hand-offs of code/tasks to meet schedules
• Participate on POCs and assist in partners’ presentations
• Assist engineering leadership in hiring and interviewing top talent
• Assist in developing center of excellence, best practices, documentation, reusable assets

Experience requirements

·        Extensive experience with data modeling and designing/supporting both streaming and batch ETL pipelines

·        Strong experience working with external teams to build and deliver products to fulfill their business requirements.

·        Knowledge of banking and financial services and products and / or prior experience working in the consulting space will be highly advantageous

·        Proficiency in distributed architecture, understanding of required infrastructure setup

·        Strong programming proficiency using 1 or 2 of the following languages: Scala, Python, Java

·        Clear understanding of distributed computing, especially in databases

·        Hands-on in SQL and NoSQL experience

·        Experience with open-source technologies (Spark, Kafka, Presto, Hive, Cassandra etc.)

·        Experience working on any of the Cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure)

·        Experience in Spark

·        Experience in Databricks

·        Strong communications skills and presentation skills to C levels

·        Ability to manage numerous requests concurrently and be able to prioritize and deliver

Education requirements

• University degree or higher education in data engineering, or computer science.
• 15+ years of experience with significant experience in the Data Engineering space.
