Job Responsibilities

Strategic and Finance Leadership:

  • Act as the finance strategic business partner, overseeing all aspects of financial and commercial management.
  • Serve as a member of the Vietnam office leadership team.
  • Participate as a member of the Asia Pacific Finance Team.
  • Collaborate with and provide financial management advice to all departments, covering budgeting, forecasting, and financial compliance.
  • Prepare and deliver in-depth financial analysis and provide insightful narratives on financial and commercial aspects for strategic and operational discussions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at the highest levels, both locally and globally.
  • Establish relationships with regulators in the jurisdiction, including the tax office and customs.

Finance Management:

  • Lead the Finance team with direct management responsibility for its functions.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and Group requirements in Vietnam, including taxes, monthly and annual financial reporting, maintaining accurate accounting records, and overseeing local and Group financial accounts.
  • Manage all financial processes, controls, and procedures, including the annual internal audit, year- end close process, and acting as the main contact for external auditors and Group teams.
  • Oversee financial management, monitor financial results, and provide business support to drive profitability, manage costs, and optimize cash flows.
  • Lead initiatives to improve working capital management and embed best practices.
  • Oversee cash management, including cash forecasts and operational cash flows.
  • Implement best practice initiatives for a global firm, ensuring timely and effective adoption of firm- wide initiatives.
  • Maintain close relationships with practice group heads on financial matters.
  • Oversee the annual budget and business planning process for the office, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with business guidelines.
  • Deliver financial awareness and business skills courses to fee earners and business teams.
  • Actively engage as a member of the Global Finance Community worldwide.

People and Performance:

  • Manage and develop a high-performing finance team with a focus on technical excellence, professional standards, commercial acumen, high service levels, and timely delivery.
  • Ensure the team adapts to the evolving needs of the business and the external environment.               
  • Engage, develop, mentor, and motivate staff to reach their potential and achieve team/firm goals.
  • Champion excellence, innovation, and a business-focused approach within the team and the broader business community.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Continuously improve the operational environment and working practices of the team.
  • Promote cross-training, succession planning, and well-rounded roles within the team.
  • Act as a mentor to other finance personnel across the region.

Experience requirements

  • Strong financial and strategic leadership skills.
  • Broad experience in financial management, including statutory compliance, taxation, and financial reporting.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership and management experience, with a focus on team development and performance.
  • Expertise in cash management and working capital optimization.
  • Knowledge of global best practices for financial operations in a professional services firm.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills at the director level.
  • Commitment to mentoring and creating a positive work environment.
  • Active participation in the Global Finance Community.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
