Job summary

Our client, a big EPC name in Oil & Gas sector, is looking for Project Planner to lead their upcoming projects. The role will be based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Project Planning Leader to oversee the end-to-end project scheduling and planning process. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth execution of industrial facility construction projects by developing, monitoring, and optimizing project schedules in alignment with cost, quality, and time targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of master project timelines for all phases, from design to final commissioning, using Primavera (P6) or equivalent software.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align detailed execution schedules with procurement, engineering, and construction plans.
  • Supervise and guide planning engineers, both in-house and outsourced, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all project schedules.
  • Track progress against baseline schedules, identify variances, and propose corrective actions to ensure timely delivery.
  • Regularly update management with progress reports and provide schedule-related insights for decision-making.
  • Coordinate with cost control and procurement teams to ensure scheduling reflects financial and resource planning.
  • Manage the interface between design, procurement, and construction teams to streamline workflow and reduce delays.
  • Contribute to risk assessments by evaluating schedule implications of project changes or delays.

Experience requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in project planning, preferably in large-scale construction or industrial plant projects.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project is essential.
  • Solid understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) processes.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in coordinating multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Education requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
