Welding Manager

Job summary

Our client - a US company specialised in providing services and machinery manufacturing in Electronics industry is looking for a Welding Manager.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead the welding team to ensure quality product is produced at production rate while adhering to safety standards
• Engage in employee development activities, providing regular feedback and coaching to enable career development for team
• Create and manage team staffing plans to meet production demands by recruiting, hiring and retaining top talent
• Manage shop floor layout and set best practices, including tool management, FOD mitigation, part control, machine preventative maintenance and safety protocols
• Ensure productivity and utilization of team remains high
• Serve as a liaison with designers, clients and other stakeholders to maximize efficiency, quality and customer satisfaction Initiate, coordinate and enforce production, safety, and quality systems, policies, and procedures
• Responsible for team training plan and setting standards for workmanship
• Build a strong team culture of accountability, collaboration, flexibility, respect and ownership
• Other duties as assigned by management

Experience requirements

• 8+ years of experience of welding processes including TIG and MIG in Orbital Welding
• 5+ years of Welding Management and/or lead/supervisory experience
• Experience leading and training welders
• Experience in a fast paced start up environment
• Time management, scheduling and organizational skills
• Has ability to prioritize task and to delegate to team
• Ability to work accurately and methodically.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to plan and organise work.
• An understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to work accurately under tight deadlines.
• Forward thinking/ problem solver • Ability to adopt change and a flexible working approach.
• Open-minded and willing to constructively challenge things.
• Promote and maintain a safe working environment, report any accidents, near misses or safety concerns.

Education requirements

• Education Level: • Bachelor’s degree in welding technology or related field
