Job summary

Our client is looking for sourcing manager to expand our production footprint into Southeast Asia and rest of the world. 

The person taking on this role will be based in Vietnam, travel regularly within and outside the country to build 

manufacturing relationships with factories.

Job Responsibilities

• Research, evaluate, and qualify suppliers based on company standards for cost-effectiveness, technical capabilities, and lead times.
• Manage the onboarding process for new suppliers, ensuring thorough vetting and validation to establish a reliable and compliant vendor base ready for collaboration with the Merchandising team.
• Cultivate and maintain strong, productive relationships with suppliers
• Regularly identify and propose new supplier capabilities and product offerings to our clients, supporting their growth initiatives.
• Work closely with the Merchandising and Engineering teams to contribute to client development and effectively address their needs.
• Attend industry tradeshows and consistently monitor market trends and the competitive landscape.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date database of both potential and approved suppliers, ensuring information is accurate and easily accessible.

Experience requirements

• 8+ years working experience in project management or sourcing/merchandising for hard goods such as Kitchen/ Cleaning/ Automotive/ Electronics / Garden/ Outdoor/ Home Decor...
• 5+ years direct sourcing experience in Asia (ideally in one or more of the following countries: China, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Myanmar)
• Foreigner settling down in Vietnam and able to travel regularly within/outside Vietnam is MOST IDEAL
• Fluent in English communication & written skills. Chinese a plus (but not required).
• Self-Driven individual who is willing to travel (high travel requirements >60% worldwide.
