Job summary
An excellent Business Development Manager job based in Vietnam has just arisen at one of the leading international manufacturers of specialty food ingredients, flavoring systems and as an award-winning cheese producer.
Job Responsibilities
- Drive and deliver against growth targets (revenue & gross profit) for Vietnam.
- Prepare and provide key info forecast, outlook, monthly business performance reviews, call reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Develop and build strong relationships, partnerships with key customers, understanding their needs and aligning our solutions accordingly.
- Contribute and participate in country strategic business plans, annual budget planning process.
- Prepare key account plans under his/her charge.
- Identify and qualify all major opportunities, business leads and projects for these key customers.
- Lead all business development related activities such as new product launches/rollouts, promotions, and other strategic growth initiatives with these key customers.
- Be the primary contact for key customers as well as business partners within the market.
- Review, plan, and align all local marketing campaigns with internal stakeholders to ensure growth opportunities are maximised with these key customers.
- Lead, manage and ensure that all customers’ complaints or any issue (CRM) are properly dealt with the respective internal stakeholders.
- Monitor competitor activity and recommend strategies for increasing market share and profitability.
- Manage and track customer requests, including samples, projects and quotations liaising internally with other departments to ensure a timely and accurate submission and follow up.
- Participate and support in exhibitions, workshops, seminars, and roadshows when required, prepare, and carry out distributor and customer seminars where relevant and/or requested.
- Track and analyse sales performance metrics, report on key findings, and recommend strategies for improvement.
- Manage and enforce the price increase initiative/negotiation to maintain healthy margin and profitability.
Experience requirements
- Previous sales experience (minimum of 5 years) in the flavour industry is mandatory.
- Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or related roles, preferably within the flavour industry.
- Have a good connection and experience in managing Key Accounts and Internal stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of business principles, market dynamics, and customer behavior.
- Sound technical knowledge and/or have experience working closely with technical teams (R&D, Innovation, Application) would be an advantage.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities, solve problems, and make data-driven decisions.
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
- Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plan, analyse data & make informed business decisions (Strategic Thinking).
- Willing to travel extensively within Vietnam to meet customers, attend industry events, and visit company manufacturing plants.
- Proficiency in English.
Education requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Food Technology, or related field.
